A break from Taekwon-Do

I kept training after I achieved my 1st Dan black belt, something funnily enough many people don't do. I can't tell you how many people drop off after they reach that seemingly elusive goal. I also began helping out my instructor by teaching the children's class. Unfortunately though my instructor broke away from Mr Daher and we found ourselves affiliated elsewhere. During this time I began to learn some of the requirements for my next grading to 2nd Dan black belt but this learning was always haphazard and there was never a push for me to continue to progress up the ranks. Around 18 years of age I found girls and training started to fall away. Not long after this my instructor was enticed to return to England to teach Taekwon-Do over there. This became the demise of the club. I was asked if I wanted to take over the now moderately successful club, but being 18 and at university I just couldn't see how this would work. The club folded, my instructor returned to England, and my own training stopped.
